San Giovanni is named after the Basilica, which is the Cathedral of Rome. Of course there are numerous supermarkets, bars, restaurants and trattorias in the neighbourhood, catering for a very international cuisine. Public transport is excellent and the nearest metro stops are Re di Roma, Ponte Lungo or Furio Camillo (Linea A) and from here you have access to the whole city. The bus service is also great and there are several bus stops nearer your front door if needed.
