Casale Staiano is a countryside farmhouse with plenty of charm and character. It lies just outside the popular small town of Sant’Agata sui due Golfi.
The farmhouse is surrounded by lovely communal gardens, filled with olive trees and pots of brightly coloured flowers. There are plenty of sunny terraces and quiet shady spots in which to while away a lazy afternoon.
You cannot help but relax when you see the view, across the green hillsides and rooftops, down to the Bay of Naples and the Island of Capri.
With a long history as a family home, Casale Staiano has now been fully renovated and updated. The owners live in part of the estate and are on hand to answer any questions and offer advice if needed.
Farmhouse layout
The farmhouse has been sympathetically modernised, with air conditioning and an internet Wifi signal throughout.
The décor is clean and simple, with tiled flooring and white walls. You can see evidence of the farmhouse’s history in the thick cool walls, and wooden shuttered windows.
It is ideal for a group of friends, or a larger family to spread out and relax, as there are three separate living rooms, each with their own kitchenette.
Each kitchenette has white contemporary units and all the equipment you will need for a relaxing stay; including a gas hob and oven, fridge freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster and coffee maker.
There is also laundry room, with a washing machine, iron and ironing board.
The bedrooms and bathrooms
The two double bedrooms are more compact, but have plenty of storage space.
There are also two double sofa beds, in the living rooms, suitable for additional guests.
The three modern white bathrooms each have an enclosed shower cubicle, wash basin, bidet, toilet and hairdryer.
Relax in the gardens
Moving back outside, you’ll find a large dining table and chairs for lazy al fresco meals. If you have small children, there is a little play area with a slide and playhouse.
There is a second terrace with wicker table and chairs – a perfect spot to chat with friends.
As you stroll through the gardens you’ll see plenty of evidence of the agricultural past. Wrought iron gates stand next to wooden pergolas and traditional farm tools.
Get out and explore
A car is advisable for your stay at Casale Staiano. Road access is easy and there is plenty of space for parking.
Sant’Agata is just a short drive away. There is much to enjoy including great shops and restaurants, the parish church, the Monastery of Deserto and various archeological ruins.
If you enjoy walking, there are many trails along the coast and inland and the farmhouse is also a great centre for many excursions on the Sorrento Peninsula and beyond, including Sorrento, Capri, Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast.

1) Guests have complimentary access to the pool, cafe/bar and restaurant at Gocce di Capri - Hotel & Serviced Residence located near the square of Termini (4 km from the property). Bookings essential
2) From the 1st April to the 31st of October, a mandatory tourist tax of 2,00 euros per person per night (for guests 18 years and over) for a maximum of 5 nights must be paid in cash on arrival. This is a government tax, payable by all tourists staying in the Municipal Council of Massa Lubrense.
3) A late check-in surcharge of €30 applies to all arrivals after 10:00pm which must be paid in cash to the host on arrival.
