Cancellation Terms

Cancellation fees depend on how much notice has been given before your arrival date and if we have a chance to resell the cancelled dates.


Cancellations must be made by e-mail to info@worldescape.com and a confirmation of the cancellation will then be sent to you. If you do not receive confirmation, then your cancellation may not have been received. It is the Client’s responsibility to ensure receipt of their cancellation.


Cancellation terms in most cases are:


  • With less than 30 days notice before your arrival date: 20% of the total remaining balance

If the policies for a particular apartment differ from the above, these will be stated on the apartment page


Please note that the booking deposit is non-refundable under any circumstance.

Old Fishmarket Close in Edinburgh was once considered a steep, narrow stinking ravine' containing a lively fish and poultry market.

It runs south from the Royal Mile next to St Giles Cathedral to Cowgate. Old Fishmarket Close was home to some colorful characters in Edinburgh's past.

The City Hangman, or 'Doomster', live here, the last being John High who died in 1817. Earlier, in 1586, Geroge Heriot, the founder of the George Heriot School and Hospital lived here.

It is also rumored that Daniel Defoe worked here as an English secret agent in the early 18th century. Today, Old Fishmarket Close has been gentrified, containing some cafés and the Old Fishmarket Close Apartments, popular as luxury city center holiday apartments right in the center of Edinburgh, close to all the main Edinburgh attractions.
